? METOLAT 288 is a highly effective defoamer, which is preferably used for preparations of coating colours.
? For most coatings 0,01 to 0,2 % METOLAT 288 is required, calculated on the dry weight of the coating.
? A dosage quantity of 1 % should not be exceeded.
? A homogeneous distribution of the defoamer in the system is important to ensure optimal use of the outstanding effectiveness of METOLAT 288.
? Therefore METOLAT 288 should be added in steps with sufficient turbulence in foaming system.
? Because of its anionic characteristic METOLAT 288 has to be checked concerning its compatibility with the used binder.
? The product will easily emulsify in water.
? That is why post-addition will be possible to the coating colour loop.
? The anionic nature of the product requires the product to be added to water, when used in the manufacture of emulsions.
? METOLAT 288 should be used where good levelling is needed.
