1、检查地脚螺栓的坚固情况。
2、检查传动皮带松紧程度及安装设备是否安装妥善。
3、检查进、出水管是否进气、漏水。
4、检查填料松紧是否适宜。
5、检查电动机和水泵轴心线是否在同一直线上，直联时，电动机旋转方向是否符合泵的旋转方向。
6、检查泵内有无障碍，轴是否卡住，用手转动应轻无杂音。
密封装置是由填料函、水封圈、填料压盖和铅粉（或油浸）石棉盘根填料组成。其作用有：
1、启动时防止空气吸入泵内，起密封作用。
2、抽水时防止水从泵内过多的沿轴大量流出。
