LVD 2006/95/EC适用于所有本身功能使用电压范围在交流50~1000V，直流75~1500V的电气产品，这个定义系指指令的适用范围，而不是指令适用的限制 (例如，在使用交流230V的计算机中，直流12V的电路所造成的危险也受LVD的规范)。LVD适用于提供给消费者和工业使用的产品，如果是工业用设备，指令也涵盖了制造商本身使用的产品(例如: 测试设备)。本指令已于2007年1月16日起强制执行。

协调标准

制造商或其授权的代表必须将CE标志贴在产品上，并起草一份符合性声明，细节如下：
◆ name and address of the manufacturer or his authorised representative established within the Community 制造商或其授权的欧洲代表的名称及地址,

◆ reference to the harmonised standards参考的协调标准,

◆ the last two digits of the year in which the CE marking was affixed.
技术文件
Technical documentation must enable the conformity of the electrical equipment to the requirements of this Directive to be assessed. It must, as far as relevant for such assessment, cover the design, manufacture and operation of the electrical equipment. It must include:
◆ a general deSCRJPTion of the electrical equipment 电气设备的一般描述,
◆ conceptual design and manufacturing drawings and schemes of components, sub-assemblies, circuits, etc. 元件，附件，电路的概念性设计和制造图纸和方案,
◆ deSCRJPTions and explanations necessary for the understanding of said drawings and schemes and the operation of the electrical equipment 上述图表和方案以及电气设备操作的必要的解释和描述,
◆ a list of the standards applied in full or in part, and deSCRJPTions of the solutions adopted to satisfy the safety aspects of this Directive where standards have not been applied,全部或部分引用标准的清单，在未采用标准时，为满足安全要求所采用的的解决方法
◆ results of design calculations made, examinations carried out, etc.设计计算，检查执行的结果
